Susan Brinkman has gained a strong expertise in the administration of personal and charitable trust and investment management accounts throughout her 22 years in the trust industry. Susan uses her broad experience and fiduciary knowledge to find solutions for her clients’ financial, tax, investment and estate planning needs. Her experience has taught her to be attentive to her clients’ needs and goals and to look for appropriate solutions that add value. Susan believes that the key to providing a high level of service to her clients is building strong relationships.
Susan Brinkman is a graduate of the Cannon Trust School. In addition, Susan is an honors graduate of the ABA’s National Graduate Trust School. She attended Colorado State University.
Susan is an active participant in her community, volunteering with several organizations. She currently works with Awana Clubs International and is the former CEO of the National Organization Caring for Kids (NOCK). Susan previously served on the Boards of Gig Harbor Academy and the Tacoma Symphony.
Rob Howell is Director of Investments for Columbia Bank’s Trust and Investment Services with more than 35 years of industry experience. He specializes in development and management for a variety of trust and investment disciplines, including asset allocation strategies, risk management and strategic client solutions.
Rob takes a very active approach to client relationships, to ensure a complete understanding of an individual’s goals. He works closely with clients to instill a sense of confidence, so they can work together to mutually arrive at financial solutions. Rob believes the success of any business is determined by building and maintaining strong relationships. He believes Columbia Bank has a genuine philosophy of doing what is right for clients, and that to be a “trusted advisor” is not only what you are, but what you have earned.
Based in Tacoma, Rob covers the entire Oregon and Washington footprint for Columbia Bank. In the past he has volunteered with the American Red Cross, among others.
With more than 15 years of experience, Dale Schuman manages the trust and investment business for the Washington and Idaho markets of Columbia Bank. He takes a client-centric approach to his role by determining each client’s specific goals and interests. Having practiced law in the Tacoma, Washington region for nearly 20 years, Dale has a very broad base of expertise including estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, trust and estate administration and commercial transactions.
Prior to joining Columbia Bank, Dale served as senior vice president, manager of trust and wealth management at Panhandle State Bank. He holds an M.B.A in business administration and a B.S. in accounting and finance, both from the University of Montana. Dale went on to study at the University of Puget Sound, where he received his law degree.
Based in Coeur d’Alene, Dale is actively involved in his local community. He currently serves on the Spokane Estate Planning Council and the Inland Northwest Community Foundation. In his spare time he enjoys fly fishing, golf, snow and water skiing and travel.
