Many companies place tight parameters around corporate giving that limit sponsorships and contributions to organizations that fit within a specific category. At Columbia Bank, we empower employees to support the causes in their communities they feel are most important. In 2017, Columbia Bank reached $2.56 million in company giving, supporting almost 700 organizations.
In 2017, in honor of our late CEO Melanie Dressel, Columbia Bank made a $400,000 contribution to University of Washington Tacoma in support of the Melanie Dressel Memorial Fund and the Center for Women’s Leadership on the UW Tacoma campus.
The Children's Museum of Tacoma has been a long-standing community partner of Columbia Bank. In 2016, as a result of the partnership, a new engaging reading space was installed in the front entrance of the Children's Museum. Stocked with books, this space provides a quieter space of play and learning for children and their families who visit the Children's Museum.
