As the leaves change color, the rains return and the wind blows colder, another tradition of Fall is set to begin – and just in time to help those among us most in need. Columbia Bank’s Warm Hearts Winter Drive.
Now in our 8th Year, Warm Hearts raises vital funds for the many people across the Northwest and northern California struggling in the cold this winter. Columbia Bank launched this annual drive in 2015, and since that time we have raised more than $1.8 million dollars to support shelters in the local communities. Warm Heart’s reach and impact continues to grow as the bank continues to grow. Last year we expanded for the first time ever into the northern California market and this year we are setting a goal of raising $250,000.
From November 14 through December 31, 2022, we ask that you stop by any Columbia Bank branch, or go online, to help us raise funds and cold weather items for individuals and families in need this winter.
Make no mistake, your contributions have never been more important. According to local and national estimates, the need amongst people experiencing homelessness in our region is enormous. Today, there are an estimated 17,706 people living on the streets, and within that population are 5,935 families with children and 1,119 unaccompanied youth.
Yet each year, the enthusiasm and generosity of our communities has continued to make an important contribution toward a solution. Because of your support, we’ve been able to provide thousands of warm winter wear items and distribute much needed funding to shelters and providers throughout the Northwest. The funds we raise directly support nearly 100 shelters across Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho and your donations are distributed directly to the community where donated.
