Columbia Bank Stuffs the Bus for Communities in Schools of Tacoma!

by User Not Found | Sep 14, 2016

Every year in July and August, Communities In Schools of Tacoma runs its “Stuff the Bus” campaign dedicated to collecting school supplies for the students they serve throughout Pierce County. This annual campaign gives local children a jump-start on getting ready for the school year and supports leveling the playing field for low-income children and their families. Columbia Bank is proud to be one of the largest donors of this special program and was thrilled to participate again in the 2016 Stuff the Bus campaign!

In addition to collecting school supplies, personal hygiene items were also collected this year. The supplies donated will be passed out to students who cannot afford even the most basic of needs and often times are facing homelessness. Cash deposits were also accepted at various branches throughout Tacoma and Pierce County.

With the help and generosity of our staff and customers, Columbia Bank was able to donate 4,517 school supply items and $3,138 in cash to Communities In Schools of Tacoma for the 2016 Stuff the Bus Campaign. We are so grateful for the community joining us in this cause to send hard working students back to school with the supplies they need to succeed!
